Government to fast track big developments
The Government is to take thousands of planning applications for big commercial and residential developments out of the hands of planning authorities and into a "fast track" process.
The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister said that "where councils are poor, developers can opt to have their decision taken by the Planning Inspectorate".
