Cameron insists Heathrow U-turn still not on the agenda

Prime minister David Cameron has insisted that the Government is not about to perform a U-turn by sanctioning the construction of a third runway at Heathrow Airport, despite a growing rebellion amongst Conservative MPs who back a third runway. “The coalition parties have made a pledge not to have a third runway and that is a pledge that we will keep,” a spokeswoman for Cameron said. “We don’t see the argument for a third runway.”
