DfT rejects calls to delay handing West Coast deal to FirstGroup
Transport secretary has rejected calls from MPs and the losing bidder Virgin to delay signing the new West Coast rail franchise.
The transport select committee urged the Government to delay signing the final contract papers with the winning bidder FirstGroup until the MPs had had a chance to "bring transparency to the process".
