Ministers authorise £330m dualling scheme for Northern Ireland road
The Northern Ireland Executive has approved a £330m plan to dual two sections of the A5 connecting Londonderry with the Irish border.
Northern Ireland’s regional development minister Danny Kennedy last week authorised the dualling of nine miles (15km) of the road between New Buildings, Londonderry and a point to the north of Strabane, and a further 14 miles (23 km) from south of Omagh to Ballygawley.
