Scots councils fend off new roads authorities
The Scottish Government has given local authorities time to demonstrate that creating new, larger roads authorities is unnecessary to delivering savings in road maintenance.
The final report of the National Roads Maintenance Review says roads authorities must take forward all options for shared services up to and including the shared delivery of entire roads services currently provided by separate authorities.
