Construction work still dwindling as recession continues
The construction sector is continuing to contract according to preliminary figures for the second quarter of the year prepared by the Office of National Statistics.
The construction sector, which includes infrastructure construction, contracted by 5.2% in the second quarter of 2012, following a 4.9% contraction in the first quarter. Overall, construction output fell by 9.7% from April-June 2011 to the same period this year.
