Centro lobbies for rail upgrades
Centro wants the DfT to include three West Midland rail schemes in the next five-year Control Period for the rail industry, beginning in 2014/15. The schemes are: electrification from Walsall to Rugeley (estimated cost £30m); increasing capacity on the Birmingham Snow Hill line (£10m); and a new station at Aldridge and electrifying the line (£20m).
