Four more years: mayor sets his second-term transport priorities

A roads task force, Dutch-style cycling provision, a new cross-London rail line, and orders of the New Bus for London – these were just some of the topics put to Boris Johnson and his transport chiefs during six hours of questioning by the London Assembly

Johnson said the new S stock would be the last Tube trains with drivers cabs.

The mayor wants 600 of the New Bus for London on the streets but transport commissioner Peter Hendy did not want to be tied to a figure.
