Name change for Crossrail station plan
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council has renamed the new station it is lobbying for on the Crossrail route. Council leader Sir Merrick Cockell said the current name Kensal “didn’t have much grip on the public imagination” and so the council would now call the station Portobello, which was a “world-famous brand”. The council is to publish a new study of the economic impact that the station could bring....
