EU plans to harmonise road casualty data

The European Commission is consulting on harmonising the definitions of road accident casualties and a plan to increase insurance premiums for motorists at fault for injury accidents.

The ideas are floated in a new consultation on an EU           road safety strategy. The Commission asks for views on establishing common EU definitions of slight and serious injuries, suggesting four possible ways of doing so:
