DfT publishes rail contract ‘pipeline’
The Government has announced that it is to publish a ‘pipeline’ of potential new rolling stock contracts to help support British manufacturers after the £1.5bn Thameslink controversy that saw the contract to build the trains for the upgraded service awarded to German firm Siemens instead of UK-based manufacturer Bombardier. The DfT says the rolling stock plan will offer an “enhanced visibility of future investments”.
