The future of ‘tube’ travel could be operating in a vacuum
The evacuated tube technology being developed will, its proponents say, enable London to New York travel times of just 45 minutesLong-haul air travel and lengthy rail journeys could soon be history if a company developing evacuated tube (ETT) technology is to be believed. Evacuated Tube Transport Technologies (et3) says that the frictionless form of transport that it is working on will, for example, enable people to travel from London to New York in just 45 minutes, with a six-seater passenger pod reaching speeds of up to 4,000mph.
