The future of ‘tube’ travel could be operating in a vacuum
Long-haul air travel and lengthy rail journeys could soon be history if a company developing evacuated tube (ETT) technology is to be believed. Evacuated Tube Transport Technologies (et3) says that the frictionless form of transport that it is working on will, for example, enable people to travel from London to New York in just 45 minutes, with a six-seater passenger pod reaching speeds of up to 4,000mph.
