Greening accelerates work on HS2 to the North
Transport Secretary Justine Greening has asked officials to look into consulting on the route of a high-speed rail line between the West Midlands, Manchester and Leeds next year rather than in 2014.
Greening said this week she wanted to bring the work forward so as to reduce uncertainty for those affected by the proposals and ensure that the benefits of high-speed rail were realised as soon as possible.
