Highways staff sharing deal sealed
The London boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea will from next month have five shared highways and transport managers after the authorities’ cabinets finalised the legal agreement on how the arrangement will work. The shared staff will comprise an executive director and director, and three heads of service: a head of highways and projects; head of parking; and head of transport policy and network management. The agreements are drafted with the boroughs’ objective of a ‘high trust’ model in mind and will “avoid time-consuming recharging” for shared staff. Instead, the borough to ‘host’ each shared member of staff will “consolidate all the costs into one statement every quarter”.
