London loses even more free fares grant
THE DFT is to cut London’s concessionary fares special grant next year by an even larger amount than proposed in a consultation last November.
London is the biggest loser from the grant re-allocation announced by transport minister Sadiq Khan last week. The Department is reducing the capital’s share of the £223m grant by more than 50% – from £58.3m to £28m. That is almost £2m more than ministers proposed when they consulted on the grant re-allocation....
