Bypass group takes control of Lincs council

A single-issue party championing a bypass for the Lincolnshire town of Boston seized control of the district council at its first attempt in the local elections last week.

The Boston Bypass Independents won 25 of the 32 seats on Boston Borough Council, wiping out the 11-strong Labour group and the four Liberal Democrat councillors in the process.
