Sustainability guidance published

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has published guidance for regional and local government on how to conduct a sustainability appraisal of revisions to regional spatial strategies, new local development frameworks and supplementary planning documents. SAs are mandatory for these documents under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and should incorporate the requirements of Strategic Environmental Assessment.
