RAC Foundation highlights councils "making £500m" out of parking
The RAC Foundation is highlighting the £500m annual surplus raised from parking charges and that only 15% of England's local authorities are operating a deficit.
The RAC Foundation's blog says that "there has long been a suspicion that local authorities are raking it in from parking charges and the truth is that many of them are," as it highlights the data from the annual returns on local authority parking operations for 2010/11.
