First UK bus disposals programme could cover more than 10 businesses

FirstGroup has responded to reports naming seven of its bus businesses as up for sale by stating that opportunities for disposals are being considered which cover a larger proportion of the UK bus business.

The disposals programme is designed to provide First’s bus division with a sharper focus on core operations in order to improve overall financial performance. The operations reported to be up for sale are: 

Wigan (116 buses)

Birkenhead (64 buses)
