In-house defect repairs ‘better value’ - Cumbria

Cumbria County Council defended its decision to in-source reactive maintenance in April as enabling it to provide a better value, more responsive service.

Andrew Moss, Cumbria’s assistant director highways and transport, told delegates:?“It was not a public versus private debate. We carried out a systems review and felt that we could get better value than the contract offered.”
