Hendy presses for Oyster roll-out beyond London

Differences between the Government and Transport for London over ‘smart’ ticketing strategy were highlighted by the capital’s transport commissioner Peter Hendy. 

The source of the tension is the fact that TfL’s current Oyster ticketing is incompatible with the DfT’s ITSO specification for ‘smart’ ticketing.
