Bus Quality Contracts ‘no good without more cash’
Bus franchising powers would be little value to transport authorities outside London unless they also had more funding, London transport commissioner Peter Hendy told MPs last week.
“If I were running one of those Integrated Transport Authorities, faced with the sort of money that they seem to have available, I wouldn’t be able to do much,” Hendy told the House of Commons transport committee inquiry into buses.
