Shropshire and Cheshire study joint highways

Shropshire Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council are working together to prepare contracts that will replace their existing term maintenance contracts when they expire in 2012. The authorities say they could share the £0.5m costs of legal and professional advice and, potentially, could make larger savings if they decide to award a single joint contract and have a joint management team.
