Oxfordshire appoints Atkins in transport services shake-up
Oxfordshire County Council has appointed consultant Atkins to provide transport services for the next ten years.
Atkins beat off the other two shortlisted bidders – Amey and MGWSP (May Gurney and WSP) – to win the contract for engineering consultancy services and highways maintenance.
The service is currently provided by two contractors: Jacobs (engineering) and Enterprise (highway maintenance). Oxfordshire says the single contract with Atkins could deliver 20% savings.
