Developer told to cut car park spaces

London mayor Boris Johnson has  called on the developer of the  former Battersea Power Station site in South London to cut the amount of car parking proposed.

Developer REO submitted plans last autumn to the London Borough of Wandsworth to redevelop the 21-hectare site into a mixed use development including housing, retailing and offices.

The developer plans to privately fund an extension of the Northern Line from Kennington to the site with an intermediate station at Nine Elms.
