Road pricing trial firms use own staff as volunteers

Companies taking part in the DfT’s road pricing technology trials are using their own staff to test out the equipment, LTT has learnt.

The DfT announced last autumn that seven companies would take part in the trials: T-Systems, Trafficmaster, Sanef Tolling, Intelligent Mechatronic Systems, Kapsch TrafficCom, Q-Free and Serco (LTT 19 Sep 08).

Four will test their competence as a road user service provider (RUSP) and three will develop systems to ensure that the charging systems operate...
