The media campaign to lobby for more aviation capacity in London and the South East, led by the Evening Standard newspaper, showed no signs of letting up in late May/early June.
On 24 May, for example, The Standard prominently featured a new report by Tory MP Kwasi Kwarteng which suggested that: “London’s three main airports may all need new runways to meet demand in future decades.”
